All of the analog repeaters are based on a standard design employing commercial equipment from GE, Motorola, and S-COM. The design allows components to be exchanged between repeaters and a spare inventory the club maintains. A defective component can be easily ‘swapped out’, minimizing repeater downtime and eliminating the need for on-site repairs under adverse conditions.

Certain of the RMRL repeaters offer special features. The 145.220 and 145.340 machines are nodes on the AllStarLink and Internet Radio Linking Project (IRLP) networks respectively. These repeaters can be linked to other repeaters around the world via the Internet (see the Internet Connection page). The 449.625 repeater is a Yaesu Fusion mixed mode machine which operates in digital and analog modes. Similarly, the 145.220 repeater offers P25 digital and analog modes. The 449.825 repeater is linked full time to the 146.940 machine, extending its coverage into Boulder and other “shadowed” areas.

Most of the RMRL repeaters require a 103.5 Hz CTCSS tone for access. The repeaters also transmit either a 103.5 Hz or a 127.3 Hz CTCSS tone. If your receiver has CTCSS decode, you can utilize this feature to reduce intermod and noise between repeater transmissions. Note that the 447.075 requires a digital code squelch, or DCS, of 165 for access and the 449.625 requires a tone of 141.3.

The 145.220 and 224.000 MHz repeaters have autopatch capability which supports long tone zero (LiTZ) emergency calling. The telephone line is shared between the two repeaters and may be in use at any given time. If you attempt to dial a number while the line is in use, the repeater will transmit ‘BZ’ (busy) in Morse code.

The RMRL has a crossband repeater regularly flown by the Edge of Space Sciences group.

RMRL REPEATERS

Callsign

Location

Output Freq.

Input Freq.

CTCSS
req’d

Rx
CTCSS

Status

WT0C

Guy Hill

145.220 MHz

144.620 MHz

103.5

103.5

Up

KE4GUQ

Evergreen

145.340 MHz

144.740 MHz

103.5

127.3

Up

W0WYX

Mount Mesta’ėhehe (formerly Squaw Mtn.)

146.940 MHz

146.340 MHz

103.5

103.5

Up

N0MHU

Guy Hill

224.000 MHz

222.400 MHz

103.5

103.5

Up

WA0MJX

Downtown Rptr

447.075 MHz

442.075 MHz

DCS 165

DCS 165

Up

W0WYX

Special Events Rptr

449.100 MHz

444.100 MHz

103.5

103.5

Up

K1DUN

Mount Mesta’ėhehe (formerly Squaw Mtn.)

449.450 MHz

444.450 MHz

103.5

127.3

Up

KE0VH

Lookout Mtn.

449.625 MHz

444.625 MHz

141.3

141.3

Up

KE0VH

Lookout Mtn.

449.625 MHz

444.625

Digital

FUSION

Up

KI0GO

Guy Hill

449.750 MHz

444.750 MHz

Digital

Dynamic

Up

KI0GO

Guy Hill

449.750 MHz

444.750 MHz

Digital

Static

Up

W0WYX

Broomfield

449.825 MHz

444.825 MHz

103.5

103.5

Up

The Rocky Mountain Radio League, Inc. provides ten repeaters serving the Front Range.
